Senior Software Engineer

At Disney Experiences Technology, our team creates world‑class immersive digital experiences for Disney’s premier vacation brands, including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney Vacation Club. This role sits in the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) organization within Technology & Digital, working closely with DVC Business, Sales & Marketing, and Member Services Technology groups. What You’ll Do
Conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software components, fixes, improvements, and new systems. Lead small projects, from analysis and design through implementation and deployment. Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders on‑shore and off‑shore to define system requirements. Support team members in delivering technology solutions that meet business needs and follow best engineering practices. Participate in code reviews, maintain coding standards, and perform performance testing and debugging. Provide input on technical direction and assess quality of deliverables. Work independently to deliver assigned tasks within agreed timelines, adapting to changing business requirements. Practice agile development in a collaborative, dynamic team environment. Follow programming and style guidelines to ensure high‑quality, secure code. Create and maintain documentation, procedures, and work instructions. Stay up to date and leverage emerging technologies such as Generative AI and GitHub Copilot. Required Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience in an agile environment. Advanced knowledge of Java, Angular, and Node.js stack. Experience with microservices, RESTful Web Services, and/or APIs. Proficient in object‑oriented programming with solid design principles. Experience designing and implementing highly scalable, high‑volume software systems. Familiarity with event‑driven architecture (Pub‑Sub, Kafka, etc.). Strong knowledge of unit testing, behavioral testing, and continuous integration. Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and New Relic. Experience optimizing software performance (memory, CPU, scaling). Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing cloud‑based solutions using managed and serverless technologies (Docker, AWS ECS, Google GKE, AWS Lambda, etc.). Experience with JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Node.js). Database design experience with relational and NoSQL (DynamoDB, Firestore). Experience with QA and software analytic tools. Experience in the vacation and/or timeshare industry. Required Education
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field. Employment type
