Utilities/Facilities Engineer

Role Summary:
The Utilities/Facilities Engineer will provide maintenance and reliability engineering support for our client’s QC Laboratories, Manufacturing Facility, and GMP Warehouse. This role ensures the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of utilities, buildings, and critical equipment that support reliable delivery of medicines.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure all operations meet OSHA, ISPE, and FDA compliance standards.
Manage and own CAPAs, deviations, and change controls.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems, compressors, chillers, pumps, water systems, and electrical equipment.
Support and optimize automation systems, including variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Ensure reliable performance of generators, fire systems, and other critical utilities.
Utilize a CMMS (e.g., BMRAM) to manage and track work orders and maintenance activities.
Develop, execute, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
Lead and coordinate site shutdowns and small-scale utility projects.
Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure timely and compliant project execution.
Support capital projects, including new equipment installation, commissioning, and validation.
Identify and recommend facility and utility upgrades to enhance reliability and compliance.
Drive improvements in facility and utility KPIs through proactive monitoring and optimization.
Complete all required training and maintain compliance with company standards.
Uphold and promote our client’s Code of Conduct in all activities.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in utilities or facilities engineering.
Hands‑on experience with GMP manufacturing or biotech/biopharma environments.
Strong understanding of HVAC, compressors, pumps, chillers, water, and electrical systems.
Experience managing CAPAs, deviations, and change controls.
Ability to plan and manage small capital projects (up to $75K).
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
Excellent communication, planning, and decision‑making skills.
