Overview
Senior Principal RF Missile Engineer – Huntsville, AL – ResourceTek, LLC, the Human Capital division of Barge Design Solutions. We are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to conduct missile trade studies, manage missile system development, design RF seeker components, and drive system integration for a defense technology client. Job Summary
This direct hire position will operate across product development, analysis, testing, and system integration. Responsibilities include developing RF seeker design, scheduling tasks, leading a multidisciplinary team, and supporting milestone reviews. Responsibilities
Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPT and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements. Represent company and program interests with senior customer counterparts, internal senior program management, and engineering leadership. Technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product deliverables. Direct and lead a diverse team of multi-disciplined engineers in support of missile development. Provide mentoring, guidance, and direction to junior engineers from conceptual design through release of technical data package. Design, test, and/or integrate RF seeker components, RF ground support equipment (EGSE), subsystems, or system-of-systems. Lead internal design reviews and support major customer reviews. Assist with program schedule creation and hardware development planning. Develop engineering labor and material estimates. Qualifications
U.S. citizen. B.S. with 15+ years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Secret level security clearance. Prior experience leading missile trade studies, system development, requirements, integration, and test. Experience leading complex system architecture design and development. Demonstrated experience across the product lifecycle—including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, and production. Experience in strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture in the Defense Industry. Demonstrated experience interacting with and influencing Department of Defense, and/or commercial and non-traditional customer sets. Experience developing effective internal and external customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and continued business. Experience managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets. Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management. Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Willing and able to travel occasionally. Excellent people skills to include communication and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary cross functional team environment. Understanding and application of industry electrical engineering technical standards; demonstrated electrical component design experience. Experience with classified test systems or systems subject to cyber security policies and risk management framework (RMF) engineering technical standards. Preferred Qualifications
12+ years with an M.S. or 10+ years with PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Experience leading system-of-system design and integration efforts with a diverse team. Experience developing and releasing formal engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures. Experience with mission critical and safety critical systems, components, connectors, cables, etc. Familiarity with MIL-STD-1901A, MIL-STD-882, EWR-127, RCC 319, RCC 324, DoDEA 8510.01, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab, ECSS-ST-50-11C.
