Summary Business Intelligence Developer

This position is an internal, corporate IT position for Varex Imaging Corp.; a leading supplier of x‑ray imaging components around the world. The BI Developer conducts design, evaluation, modification, testing, implementation and documentation of business intelligence solutions across multiple enterprise‑wide functional areas. This person should be able to clearly communicate with internal business owners to understand data needs and translate those needs into meaningful visualizations. The candidate should be experienced with BI development activities like data gathering, data management and data visualization.

This position reports to the corporate BI manager and works within a local team of BI analysts where teamwork and interpersonal skills are important for success. This person must be fluent in speaking and writing English and communicate clearly with other internal employees.

Job Description

Exposure to project management and system implementation methodologies

Works effectively in teams

Exposure to multiple business disciplines; finance, sales, marketing, manufacturing, HR, corporate administration

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools

Manage multiple concurrent projects to completion in a timely manner

Required Experience

Designing data visualizations in any top‑tier BI tool; e.g. Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, etc.

Working with SQL scripting and/or programming languages

Proficient with SQL‑based queries and data modeling

Solid foundation in relational databases

Preferred Experience

Experience designing data visualizations using any of the tools in the Qlik product suite (e.g. Qlikview, Qlik Sense, Qlik SaaS). All visualizations in this role will be done using Qlik tools. Any experience with other tools will be conceptually helpful but the ideal candidate will have previous experience with Qlik.

Experience with ETL tools to gather and manage data, e.g. SAP Data Services or BOOMI

Experience supporting and managing a data warehouse

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related major

5+ years of related experience

Preferred candidate will have one or more certifications in main stream BI tools
