Integration Analyst III Hybrid | Englewood, CO

Our client is seeking an Encoder Engineer to support video encoding and packaging workflows across IP video platforms. This role is hands‑on and focused on the operational side of video encoding—working directly with Linux systems, virtual machines, and physical servers to test, configure, and maintain encoding environments. The engineer will execute test cases, validate video quality, and support packaging flows from ingest through delivery, ensuring best‑in‑class video experiences for our client’s customers.

This is not a design or architecture role; the engineer will be the technical backbone for testing, validation, and operational execution across encoding workflows.

Responsibilities

Support encoding workflows and ensure smooth end‑to‑end video processing (ingest → encode → package → delivery).

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems on Linux servers and virtual machines used in encoding environments.

Perform hands‑on work with both virtualized and physical server environments (rack, stack, and ticketing for hardware as needed).

Execute and document encoding test cases, validating functional and quality requirements.

Monitor and assess video quality using industry tools and standards (VMAF, PSNR, SSIM, etc.).

Troubleshoot issues across encoding, packaging, and streaming workflows.

Collaborate with vendor and MSO partners to integrate and validate encoder solutions.

Support video packaging flows (HLS, DASH, CMAF, etc.) and send packaged video to downstream systems.

Provide operational support for upgrades, patches, and system reliability improvements.

Contribute to documentation and knowledge‑base for repeatable processes and future team reference.

Experience Required

5+ years of experience in video encoding, transcoding, or related video engineering roles.

Strong knowledge of Linux administration and ability to build/install OS images.

Experience with virtual machine environments (VMware, KVM, or equivalent).

Hands‑on experience with physical server maintenance (rack/stack, troubleshooting, tickets).

Familiarity with video encoding workflows and common codecs (H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, AV1).

Understanding of packaging formats (HLS, DASH, CMAF).

Ability to run and document test cases, troubleshoot issues, and validate results.

Strong grasp of video quality measurement methodologies and tools.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with other engineering and operations teams.
