Summary Redwire Space Missions LLC has an opportunity for a "Sr. Staff Systems Engineer - Spacecraft Architect" located at our facility in Littleton, CO to support the development of high-quality solutions for small satellite programs. As a Staff Systems Engineer and Spacecraft Architect, experience with all phases of the space systems development process including requirements definition, system and spacecraft interfaces, system and spacecraft design, integration, test, verification and validation, and mission operations is required.

Responsibilities

Lead technical team through system architecture creation, requirements generation, design, development, testing, verification, and validation.

Lead technical team through program life cycle milestones such as System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Test Requirements Review (TRR).

Lead technical team through defining and controlling component, subsystem and spacecraft interfaces; manage Interface Control Documents and communication between cross-functional teams.

Plan and conduct technical reviews and technical baseline.

Perform various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.

Support design/development of test tooling (simulation, models, report/analysis tools, EGSE) for both Software and Hardware testing.

Write technical policies, procedures, and documentation.

Mentor, coach, train, guide, direct and advise junior staff.

Ideal Experience

Bachelor, Master or Ph.D degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in the space industry.

Experience with space systems engineering life cycle; including an understanding of space vehicle design, architecture development, space vehicle integration and test, and space operations development.

Experience leading technical teams.

US citizenship is required with ability to acquire DOD Security Clearance.

Desired Skills

Experience with NASA or DoD lifecycle reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR).

Experience with JAMA/DOORS Requirements management tools.

Experience with Ansys STK (Systems Tool Kit).

Experience with MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering).

Experience participating in technical execution for systems development.

Active DOD Security Clearance.

Direct experience with Spacecraft Power System Design/Test/Operations.

Direct experience with Spacecraft GN&C (Guidance, Navigation and Control) System Design/Test/Operations.

Experience with Microsoft Project and Visio.

Possesses a broad background in systems engineering.

Pay Range $150,000 - $185,000
