Purpose Builders FirstSource (BFS) is undergoing a business transformation that will enable us to outperform our competition and enable industry transformation. In connection with this initiative, BFS will deploy our core operations on SAP S / 4HANA Private Cloud.

Lead Engineer, IT – Overview The Lead Engineer, IT is the internal BFS Techno‑Functional Lead that will oversee the optimal design, build / configuration, testing, training, and user‑adoption of our deployed warehouse process solutions and ensuring they are following simple, standard, and efficient principles leveraging the following:

SAP S / 4HANA Cloud Supply Chain for Extended Warehouse Management – drive warehouse efficiency for inbound and outbound processing, physical inventory, cycle counting, wave picking, basic and advanced warehouse management including inventory, yard, and labor management, kitting, cross‑docking, and use of automated warehouse operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Functional Responsibilities

Partner with business stakeholders and business process owner(s) to create and develop a comprehensive warehouse roadmap spanning the solutions outlined above.

Gather and analyze business requirements related to warehouse and logistics operations.

Configure SAP EWM for inbound, outbound, internal warehouse processes, and physical inventory.

Customize POSC, LOSC, RF frameworks, and warehouse structure setup.

Collaborate with cross‑functional SAP teams (MM, SD, TM, PP) for process integration.

Prepare functional specifications for reports, forms, enhancements, and interfaces.

Provide post‑go‑live support and resolve operational issues.

Lead areas of a project from requirements to execution.

Stays current on industry trends, implements and monitors new technologies, industry trends and best practices.

Collaborate with multi‑functional teams to hold technical discussions and solve immediate problems.

Provide input to leadership team on development priorities, resource allocation.

Technical Responsibilities

Translate functional requirements into technical solutions aligned with SAP best practices.

Develop and maintain interfaces between SAP EWM and third‑party systems (WCS, TMS, ERP).

Work with integration technologies: IDoc, RFC, BAPI, Web Services (SOAP / REST), SAP PI / PO, CPI, MuleSoft.

Support custom developments using ABAP, BADIs, user exits, and enhancements.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to: supervises assigned team members (in‑person and remote); talent selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management, including conducting performance reviews; recognizing team members; addressing and resolve concerns timely, elevate for help when necessary.

Minimum Requirements

5‑10+ years of SAP experience, with a strong focus on EWM.

At least 2 full‑cycle EWM implementations, preferably on S / 4HANA.

Hands‑on experience with EWM ABAP, debugging, and FIORI.

Deep understanding of warehouse operations and logistics processes.

Strong integration knowledge with SAP MM, SD, TM, PP modules.

Experience with RF devices and warehouse automation technologies.

Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Competencies & Business Acumen Subject matter expert in Warehouse Management, experience in project management, process design and metrics, excellent communication skills, strong leadership and management skills, and a strong focus on delivering results aligned with BFS SPICE values.

Work Environment / Physical Activity Typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to travel up to 40% during the multi‑year business transformation, likely shifting down to 20% after initial business transformation is complete.
