Glass Roots Construction (GRC) was founded by a team of well-funded career telecom and construction professionals. We look to leverage the latest technologies, best-in-industry equipment, and up-to-date construction and safety practices to build a first-class fiber optic utility construction firm in multiple markets throughout the US.
The Vice President of Operations -
will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of telecom and utility construction operations across the market. This is a key executive leadership role with the opportunity to shape strategy, build high-performing teams, and play a pivotal role in the exciting growth of GRC! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide executive oversight of all operational functions, including project delivery, safety, quality, and field operations. Lead strategic planning and execution for growth, efficiency, and expansion into new markets. Manage budgets, P&L performance, and operational forecasting across multiple regions. Build, mentor, and lead a strong leadership team of Directors, Managers, and field personnel. Champion a culture of safety as a core value. Ensuring proactive practices, zero-incident mindset, and continuous improvement in all field operations. Drive adoption of new technologies, best practices, and process innovations to ensure operational excellence and scalability. Partner with executive leadership on business development opportunities and client relationships. Monitor risks and implement proactive solutions to minimize delays, cost overruns, and compliance issues. Oversee subcontractor performance to optimize cost and quality. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in telecom and utility construction. Proven ability to manage large, complex infrastructure projects (fiber, outside plant, aerial/underground). Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility. Demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing teams that consistently raise the bar. Deep understanding of permitting, safety leadership, and regulatory compliance, with a track record of driving safety excellence (not just compliance). Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and regional offices. PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience scaling operations across multiple regions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Advanced skills in Google Suite and project management software. Job Type: Full Time Reporting to: Marty Snella Compensation range
