This dual role also includes essential customer service, such as checking in late guests, responding to inquiries, and ensuring the front desk operates smoothly overnight. The process ensures financial accuracy, helps prepare for the next day, and provides a critical point of contact for hotel guests during quieter hours.
Responsibilities
Financial Reconciliation: The core task is to verify and balance all financial records from the day's operations, including guest charges, payments, and various revenue streams.
Account Balancing: This involves reconciling cash and credit card transactions, posting charges to guest accounts, and ensuring all billing records are accurate.
Reporting: The night auditor prepares various financial reports for management, such as daily revenue summaries, occupancy reports, and occupancy rates, to analyze hotel performance.
Guest Services: They serve as the primary point of contact for guests overnight, handling late check-ins, check-outs, room service requests, wake-up calls, and general inquiries.
Front Desk Operations: The role includes managing reservations, taking payments, and ensuring the front desk is prepared for the arrival of the morning shift.
Security and Communication: Night auditors are often responsible for ensuring the property's security and coordinating with other departments, like maintenance and housekeeping, to address overnight needs.
Requirements
One year’s experience
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of safety and security procedures
Time management and multitasking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
