HSE Specialist Job Description
The Offshore HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Specialist is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of offshore facilities such as oil rigs, drilling units, and marine platforms. This role plays a key part in protecting personnel, safeguarding the environment, and supporting safe, efficient offshore operations. The HSE Specialist oversees risk assessments, implements company policies, conducts training, and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards. Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessments:
Identify potential hazards in offshore operations, assess associated risks, and recommend control measures to minimize exposure. Policy & Procedure Implementation:
Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and standards to maintain compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Audits & Inspections:
Perform routine inspections, audits, and safety observations ("safety hunts") to identify hazards, verify system compliance, and drive corrective actions. Incident Management:
Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; participate in root cause analyses; and recommend corrective and preventive measures. Reporting:
Document HSE activities, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports on incidents, performance metrics, and compliance for management and clients.
