Job Summary The Department of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Staff Assistant 2, Emergency Room (Evenings). The successful candidate will:

Greet and assist patients, and visitors entering the Emergency Department at University Hospital of Brooklyn.

Greet and answer telephone calls in a professional manner, take messages, relay messages in an appropriate and timely manner.

Electronically record and document the temperature of all visitors entering the ED for treatment.

Use Health Bridge (an electronic medical record system), monitoring patient movement within the hospital.

Acts as liaison to the Department of Nursing and Registrar office (Patient Access).

Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.

Maintains operational by following hospital policies and procedures and departmental protocols.

Contributes to the ED team effort by accomplishing results as needed.

Perform all additional job related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma.

Basic computer knowledge/skills.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to multi-task with attention to detail and answer telephones.

Work Schedule Variable Days; 3:30pm to 12:00am (Full-Time Evenings)

Salary Range Commensurate with experience and qualifications
