ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a hands-on Product Design & Prototyping Engineer with strong expertise in CAD modeling and rapid prototyping. This role requires a balance of design creativity, technical skills, and practical knowledge of manufacturing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and support the development of innovative products, particularly in the domain of electronic enclosures and hardware systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop high-quality 3D CAD models (Fusion 360 preferred) for product concepts and production-ready designs.
- Operate and utilize rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printers and CNC machinery to create functional prototypes.
- Support manufacturing processes including injection molding and vacuum casting for product development.
- Design enclosures for electronic PCBs, ensuring structural integrity, heat management, and ease of assembly.
- Apply knowledge of US building wiring standards and construction architecture to product designs where applicable.
- Ensure designs follow best practices, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in CAD modeling (Fusion 360 preferred).
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, and other prototyping methods.
- Understanding of injection molding and vacuum casting manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of enclosure design for electronic PCBs.
- Familiarity with US building wiring and construction architecture.
- Strong grasp of design compliance standards and good engineering practices.
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Basic PCB design knowledge.
- Basic coding/programming ability for product integration or testing.
- Experience in using AI tools to assist in design and development.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
