Job Title: Data Governance Analyst
Location: New York (3 days on-site)
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
We're working with one of our clients who are searching for a Data Governance Analyst to help shape how information is managed, standardised, and protected across the organisation.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement governance frameworks, and work with tools like Microsoft Purview to deliver high-impact data solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Champion and maintain the firm’s data governance framework, ensuring policies are consistently applied across departments.
- Track and report on data quality metrics, KPIs, and conformance dashboards.
- Build and manage a comprehensive data glossary to ensure consistent terminology across the business.
- Conduct regular assessments of data quality, coordinating remediation plans where needed.
- Partner with teams across the organisation to gather requirements, assess data needs, and support delivery initiatives.
What You Bring
- A minimum of 2-4 years prior experience in a data governance role
- A solid understanding of data governance principles: data quality, data lineage, roles and responsibilities, and documentation.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview or similar tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica).
- Proven ability to design and maintain dashboards or KPI reports to track compliance.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A problem‑solving mindset with experience identifying and remediating data issues.
- Familiarity with automation tools or workflows to streamline data processes.
- Awareness of data protection regulations and how they apply in practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
