We are seeking an entry level Accounting Clerk to join our small but dynamic accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented professional looking to grow in a collaborative environment where everyone contributes across the full accounting spectrum.

Job Summary

The Accounting Clerk is a vital member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily accounting operations. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for maintaining orderly financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Recording: Handle and record transactions such as expenses, receipts, and other financial entries in the accounting system with accuracy.
  • Document Management: File and maintain physical and digital records of financial documents to support transactions and audits.
  • Invoice Processing: Issue invoices to customers and process incoming invoices from suppliers, including verification against purchase orders.
  • Payment Management: Prepare checks, handle online payments, and process direct deposits to vendors and employees.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts.
  • Report Preparation: Prepare regular financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Support: Assist in the management of accounts payable and receivable, including collection and reminder notices.
  • Expense Verification: Ensure that expense claims comply with company policies and process them for payment.
  • Data Entry: Input financial data into internal databases and accounting software, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Administrative Support: Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, handling correspondence, and scheduling appointments related to the accounting function.
  • Customer Service: Assist with customer inquiries related to billing and payments, providing a courteous and professional response.
  • Petty Cash Handling: Manage minor cash transactions and maintain accurate records for small, daily company expenses.
  • Audit Assistance: Provide support during internal and external auditing processes.

Work Environment

  • Primarily sedentary role with frequent sitting, keyboard use, and screen time; occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching.
  • Consistent exposure to moderate noise typical of an office setting.
  • Regular hours of operation with potential for occasional extended hours during reporting cycles or project deadlines.

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of hands‑on accounting or bookkeeping experience, including processing invoices, reconciliations, month‑end close support.
  • Solid working knowledge of applying accounting principles to daily operations.
  • Proficient in Excel (intermediate usage: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, more complex formulas).
  • Experience using accounting software or ERP systems; ability to troubleshoot basic system issues or workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience in account reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive financial data.

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal travel may be required for training or company meetings.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for travel to job sites or use of company vehicles.
  • Candidates must also possess, or be eligible to obtain, a passport and any required travel visas to support global operations.
