Overview

Our Custodial Services team is looking for a dedicated Custodian to help maintain a safe and clean environment across the West Campus facilities. The role requires multitasking, efficient operation of cleaning equipment (including pressure washers), and excellent communication skills to understand and adhere to directions. The custodian plays a vital role in supporting students, faculty, and staff in achieving educational and professional goals.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday 4:00 pm – 12:30 am
• Occasional weekend availability may be necessary.
• The position is fully onsite.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, and wax floors using appropriate cleaning and waxing equipment.
• Sweep, clean, and mop rest rooms including floors, sinks, urinals, commodes, and mirrors; polish hardware; refill soap and towel dispensers as required.
• Empty wastebaskets, cigarette burns, and trash receptacles.
• Clean chalkboards, erasers, chalk troughs, and replenish chalk.
• Close windows, turn off lights, and lock assigned areas.
• Dust furniture, window sills, and other area equipment.
• Wash windows, clean and polish drinking fountains, and other area equipment.
• Clean cobwebs, mud, paper, and other debris from areas adjacent to buildings; scrub, and mop corridors and walkways.
• Clean walls, ceilings, and light fixtures.
• Clean air conditioning supply and return air grills.
• Assist in relocating furniture, books, etc.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Experience or working knowledge in a position with similar duties.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and proper use of scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Driver’s license is not required.
• Veteran’s preference is eligible.
