Director of Campus Ministry
Salary Range:
$62,500 to $72,500 – based on experience & qualifications.
Trinity Washington University, a comprehensive Catholic university located in Washington, D.C., seeks a Director of Campus Ministry to plan and implement programs that support the faith life and spiritual development of students, faculty, and staff in this religiously diverse community. Founded in 1897 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, Trinity emphasizes women’s education and leadership while providing a broad range of educational opportunities for women and men of all ages at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. With about 2,000 students enrolled in 2025, Trinity is classified as both a Predominantly Black and Hispanic Serving Institution; 50% of the students are DC residents, 70% are Pell Grantees, and a substantial proportion are undocumented.
Reporting to:
Vice President for Student Affairs, the Campus Minister works with students, faculty, and staff to develop opportunities for faith education, prayer, and worship, including Catholic liturgies, ecumenical and interfaith services, and community service programs that reflect Trinity’s historic commitment to social justice. The Campus Minister coordinates local clergy services, the campus Gospel Choir engagement, and the planning and leadership of two chapels on campus, managing sacristan duties and special events.
Responsibilities:
Develop and coordinate faith education opportunities, including Catholic liturgies, prayer, and worship, ecumenical and interfaith services.
Organize and lead retreats, community service experiences, and related educational and administrative tasks.
Plan and oversee two chapels on campus, coordinating sacristan duties and managing special events.
Foster a broad range of community connections for service-learning opportunities, including cooperation with faculty on service-learning programs linked to courses and curricula.
Build and maintain a ministry program that serves the diverse faith expressions present among Trinity students, faculty, and staff.
Qualifications:
Catholic, with the ability to build a ministry program serving the many faiths present at Trinity.
Master’s degree in ministry or a related field.
At least five years of progressively responsible experience in ministry on a college campus or in a comparable setting.
Experience leading programs of prayer and worship, retreats, community service experiences, and related educational and administrative tasks.
Knowledge of Catholic liturgical rules and expectations.
