Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Neonatologist to join our nationally recognized team in Indianapolis. As a leader in neonatal care, Riley Children’s treats more than 3,500 newborns annually across its Level IV and Level III NICUs. Our multidisciplinary team—comprised of board-certified neonatologists, advanced practice providers, and pediatric subspecialists—delivers comprehensive, lifesaving care that often begins prenatally and continues through the NICU stay and beyond. We work closely with maternal-fetal medicine, pediatric surgical and medical subspecialties, and neurodevelopmental follow-up programs to ensure seamless, family-centered care. This position will primarily serve the Level III NICU at Franciscan Health Indianapolis, located within the Center for Women & Children—the only Level III NICU serving South Central Indiana. Recently expanded to 38 private rooms, the NICU is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed 24/7 by experienced neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and a multidisciplinary care team. The Franciscan Health NICU has a long-standing legacy of excellence in neonatal care and continues to grow its services to meet the needs of critically ill and premature infants.

Clinical Responsibilities

Serve as a primary daytime attending physician at St. Francis Hospital, a Level III NICU in Indianapolis, with potential opportunities to provide coverage at other NICUs managed by the Division.

Participate in the high-risk delivery service and provide consultation for high-risk obstetric patients at St. Francis Hospital.

Night call responsibilities are an expected part of the role and include in-house coverage during both weeknights and weekends.

Academic & Professional Engagement

Be an active member of the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, contributing to the education of medical students, pediatric residents, neonatal fellows, and advanced practice providers (NNPs and PAs).

Candidates with experience in quality improvement initiatives or the development of clinical guidelines to reduce variation in care are highly valued.

Opportunities for academic engagement and scholarly activity are encouraged. A faculty appointment with the Indiana University School of Medicine is available and will be commensurate with experience and academic interests.

Qualifications

Completion of pediatric residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship

BE/BC in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine

Physician MD/DO licensed in or eligible for Indiana license

New graduates and experienced providers encouraged to apply
