East West Bank is seeking a Sports Finance Portfolio Manager (PM). The PM will be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of sports clients including leagues teams, stadium/arena companies and other sports-affiliated entities. The PM will be accountable for credit quality, portfolio profitability, client relationship management, and risk mitigation, working closely with relationship managers, senior credit approvers and other internal partners.

Responsibilities

Oversee a portfolio of sports finance loans, ensuring adherence to credit policies, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements while optimizing profitability and client experience.

Lead or co‑lead the structuring of credit transactions; as well as lead the underwriting, and ongoing credit monitoring of sports finance transactions, including covenant compliance and periodic risk reviews.

Lead or co‑lead the deal execution efforts; including partnering with other members of the deal teams, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders on transaction documentation, closing processes, amendments, and waivers.

Serve as a key point of contact for existing clients, managing day‑to‑day client interactions, addressing operational, credit, and structuring inquiries; supporting relationship managers in cross‑selling and retention efforts.

Prepare credit memorandums for senior management, with comprehensive analysis, for prospective and existing clients.

Prepare portfolio reports, risk assessments, and internal presentations for management, credit committees, and regulators as required.

Identify and elevate emerging credit risks, market trends, and sports‑specific developments that could impact portfolio performance or client obligations.

Stay informed of market trends, regulatory changes, and sports finance market activity to enhance transaction quality and portfolio oversight.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior portfolio managers, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and directly related experience.

Experience in the sports industry with general knowledge of sports finance is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience with a solid credit background.

Must have a working knowledge of Excel & Word.

Demonstrates strong underwriting and projection skills.

Strong understanding of credit policy and procedures and is able to accurately risk‑rate loans/credits, evaluates both cash‑flow and collateral‑based loans/credits.

Strives for success and able to work under minimum supervision.

Compensation The base pay range for this position is USD $165,000.00/Yr. - USD $215,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
