McBride Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a
Principal Systems Engineer
providing support to the
Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management Division (C3BM) .
This is a full‑time position located at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA. The role involves supporting the design, operation, and sustainment of systems and components throughout the acquisition life cycle.
Responsibilities
Align with one of five Mission Integration Teams (MITs): Air, Maritime, Land, Homeland Air Defense, and Cross‑Cutting.
Translate operational and functional requirements into technical requirements.
Design capability architecture ensuring integration/interoperability with the broader DAF C3BM enterprise architecture.
Assess risk and collaborate with the Science & Technology Community to mitigate identified risks.
Provide execution management strategy to deliver capability requirements to the acquisition community.
Collaborate on Test and Evaluation Strategy with the Test and Evaluation Community for exercise and experimentation activities.
Drive interconnectivity between represented PEOs and weapon systems.
Capture current and future state architecture models and develop migration paths enabling seamless sensor‑to‑shooter connectivity.
Engage joint and coalition community to design and evaluate architecture that connects any sensor to any shooter irrespective of service or coalition.
Identify, assess, and mature innovative and affordable concepts meeting current and future AF needs through multi‑domain expertise, analytics, and modeling, simulation & analysis tool development.
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have and be able to maintain an active Top Secret level clearance and be SCI eligible.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
20+ years of experience with 12+ years of DoD related experience.
Familiar with cloud‑based systems, including management and projection of cost and performance.
Familiar with agile methods and CI/CD, DevSecOps, and DevOps principles.
Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies and practices of systems acquisition and program management as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and 5000.75.
Possess knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of acquisition programs.
Possesses strong oral and written communication skills, providing quality acquisition and program documentation including briefings, documents, and plans.
