Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer I

CesiumAstro invites an experienced engineer to lead the design and integration of power, digital, analog, and RF interconnects for cutting‑edge space and airborne systems. The role demands full ownership of wire harness design, from schematic development and cable routing to connector selection and harness assembly drawings, in collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and harness assembly teams. Responsibilities

Define initial specifications and lead the full wire harness design process. Develop schematics, routing diagrams, connector selections, and assembly drawings. Conduct thorough analysis and testing to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and performance requirements. Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to enhance performance and reliability. Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical engineers, and harness assembly technicians on integration and test. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. 4 years of relevant industry or university research experience. Proficiency in harness design tools such as RapidHarness. Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, wire routing, controlled impedance, cable shielding, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Ability to analyze and test wire harness designs to meet applicable standards, safety regulations, and performance requirements. Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC‑WHMA‑A‑620 and ISO 9001. Hands‑on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads. Detail‑oriented approach with a high level of accuracy in design documentation and technical specifications. Excellent written and spoken communication skills. Aerospace industry experience. Preferred Experience

Design experience for space environments. Hands‑on experience assembling wire harnesses. Compensation

$105,000 – $130,000 per year, plus company stock options and a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, life, disability, and retirement plans. Equal Opportunity Employer
