We are focused on delivering secure, low-cost, and sustainable energy solutions through the safe and efficient development and operation of natural gas liquefaction and carbon capture and storage infrastructure.

Through our subsidiaries, we are developing and constructing the Rio Grande LNG natural gas liquefaction and export facility near Brownsville, Texas, with approximately 48 MTPA of potential liquefaction capacity currently under construction or in development.

We also develop a potential carbon capture and storage project at the facility that is expected to make meaningful impacts toward a lower carbon future.

Summary of the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and detail‑oriented Market Analyst / Commercial Analyst to support commercial and strategic decision‑making across LNG, power, natural gas, shipping, and emissions markets.

This role will be instrumental in providing market intelligence, trading insights, and analytical support to optimize portfolio performance, marketing strategies, hedging strategies, and identify emerging opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze global and regional market fundamentals across LNG, US gas, US power, shipping, and emissions.

Track supply‑demand balances; infrastructure developments and regulatory changes.

Build and maintain models for pipeline flows, demand/supply balances, price forecasting and scenario planning.

Reconcile market analysis and various reports from different sources (WoodMac, Platts, etc.) to form internal view to guide origination, trading and project development activities.

Provide analytical support to trading desks and commercial teams for deal evaluation, hedging strategies, and asset optimization. Analyze price spreads, arbitrage opportunities, and trading signals across commodities and geographies.

Integrate third‑party data sources and APIs to enrich internal analytics; leverage tools such as Python to automate workflows and enhance efficiency.

Track emissions pricing mechanisms and regulatory frameworks.

Create executive summary materials and presentations.

Prepare market reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and senior leadership.

Communicate complex market dynamics in a clear and actionable manner.

Education, Skills, Experience, & Competencies

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Data Science, or related field.

3+ years of experience in energy markets, trading analytics, or market research; 5+ years of experience is a plus.

Strong understanding of LNG, gas, power, shipping and emission markets and key drivers that impact market imbalances and price dynamics.

Proficiency in data analysis tools Excel/VBA, Python, SQL and capability to collect, analyze, explain and visualize the data.

Knowledge in various econometric forecast models such as ARIMA, GARCH, ECM and structural model etc.

Knowledge in commercial tools such as Aurora and GPCM or other similar tools is a plus.

Experience with Marketview, Bloomberg, or similar platforms is a plus.

Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Work Environment & Physical Demands This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc. This is primarily a sedentary role; the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.

Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend, stand on a stool, or climb as necessary to perform these functions.

Required to talk or hear while performing duties.

Required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities.

Able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
