Overview We are seeking a
Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
to provide comprehensive, patient‑centered care to women throughout all stages of life—from pregnancy and childbirth through menopause and beyond. The CNM will collaborate closely with physicians and the broader care team to ensure safe, evidence‑based, and high‑quality care for every patient.
Key Responsibilities
Provide full‑scope midwifery care including antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum services.
Educate patients on birth options, procedures, treatments, and preventative health measures.
Utilize shared decision‑making with patients and their families.
Monitor fetal growth, maternal health, and manage conditions that arise during pregnancy.
Attend in‑hospital births and manage labor and delivery care.
Use low‑intervention techniques to induce or support labor and manage pain.
Collaborate with physicians for timely interventions as needed during pregnancy or childbirth.
Monitor and follow up on labs, ultrasounds, and test results for pregnant and postpartum patients.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation in the EMR system.
Provide postpartum care, including breastfeeding support and self‑care education.
Conduct obstetric and gynecologic physical exams.
Write prescriptions and order diagnostic tests as needed.
Adhere to all HIPAA, infection control, and regulatory compliance guidelines.
Serve as a clinical resource to staff, offering support and guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices.
Schedule & Expectations Labor & Delivery or Post‑Partum
Begin at 7:00 am for labor and delivery sign‑out.
Serve as first call during the day; physician assumes call at 7:00 pm.
Admit scheduled inductions and triage patient needs (ANAs, NSTs).
Round on postpartum patients and co‑manage high‑risk labor cases with physicians.
Call Schedule
Cover approximately 1 to 6 call when scheduling permits.
Receive a scheduled day off following each call shift.
Cover one Saturday and one Sunday (24‑hour shifts) per month.
Office Schedule
Scheduled 16‑32 hours per week in office and clinical setting providing OB and GYN care, with flexibility based on vacation and call coverage.
Qualifications Required
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited degree program.
Board Certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
Ability to successfully pass an employment background check and Office of Inspector General (OIG) exclusion check.
Accepting experienced CNMs. New grads are also encouraged to apply.
Preferred
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
Experience with EMR systems; Epic experience a plus.
