CTBR, located at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, NC, conducts basic and translational research related to human diseases, with focuses on development of novel intervention strategies for disease prevention and treatment. Position Summary:

This position is expected to perform research in the area of alcohol-related organ injury. The research projects aim at understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of alcohol-induced pathogenesis at the gut-liver axis and exploring preventive and/or therapeutic interventions. Data generated from the projects will be used to support external funding applications. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in the field of Biological Sciences. Experienced in cellular and molecular biology; Experienced in using graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data. And a record of research productivity in peer-reviewed journals and/or scientific meetings. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in handling mouse models. Research

— Essential Tasks: This position will conduct independent research using both rodent models and in vitro cell models to explore the pathogenesis of alcohol-related organ injury, including design and implementation of research protocols, data collection and analysis, and adaptation of new procedures, methods or instrumentation relative to research procedures. (Percentage of Time: 20%) Animal Duties

— Essential Tasks: This position will manage and maintain mouse colonies, including breeding, genotyping, census keeping, and providing mice as needed for experiments. (Percentage of Time: 10%) Presentation

— Essential Tasks: This position will present research findings at scientific meetings and prepare manuscripts for publications based on the research findings. (Percentage of Time: 10%) Lab Responsibilities
