Job Description
The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) at the University of Florida is recruiting an Audiology faculty member at the assistant or associate professor rank. This full‑time, tenure‑track position will begin in Fall 2025. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in audiology or hearing sciences, with a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, research, and service in an academic health center environment. Responsibilities
Teach upper‑division undergraduate and graduate courses in audiology and hearing sciences. Conduct research and develop extramurally funded projects in psychoacoustics, cochlear implants, medical audiology, or hearing conservation. Engage in service activities, including student mentorship and participation on departmental and college committees. Contribute to collaborative and independent teaching, mentoring, research, and service. Qualifications
PhD in audiology, hearing sciences, or a closely related field. AuD and PhD in audiology, hearing sciences, or a closely related field preferred. Eligibility or possession of the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; effective written and oral communication skills essential. Assistant professor candidates should demonstrate potential to develop an extramural grant record; associate professor candidates must have a strong track record of extramural grant funding.
