Starting Compensation 100.00 - 120.00 USD Per Hour
Working Location Long Beach, CA
Working Hours/Shift Monday: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Qualifications Education
Master’s Degree in Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Completion of an approved Adult, Child, or Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program.
Doctorate degree preferred.
Experience
Minimum of two years of experience with adults and children greater than age 12 who present and are assessed with a DSM‑IV diagnosis.
Experience with mentally ill clients preferred.
License
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the California Board of Nursing Education.
Certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
Possession of a State of California issued medication furnishing number and a certificate issued by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration for the furnishing of psychotropic medications.
Valid California Driver's License required.
Valid CPR certification.
How You Will Make a Difference (Job Overview) In collaboration with a designated physician the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) provides inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, including admitting, assessing, furnishing, and providing medication management, and managing clients’ following established standards and practices. The PNP reviews and analyzes client records to evaluate the usage of psychotropic and other drugs and the quality and appropriateness of mental health care. May be asked to become LPS designee certified to facilitate the completion of “applications 5150/5585” for clients in need of such.

24/7 outpatient program.
Rapid mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and medication support.
Walk‑ins welcome.
Clients may stay up to 24 hours.
Facility equipped to serve 12 adults (ages 18 and up) and 6 adolescents (ages 13 to 17).
