NESC Staffing is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our client’s Wastewater Department in Melville, New York. This direct hire, on-site position offers the opportunity to contribute to essential infrastructure projects involving the design, analysis, and implementation of wastewater systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in wastewater treatment design, hydraulic modeling, and construction documentation, while also demonstrating strong collaboration and communication skills. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review designs, permits, construction plans, specifications, and bid documents for wastewater projects. Perform hydraulic modeling and system analysis for treatment and conveyance systems. Conduct site assessments, inspections, and condition evaluations of existing wastewater infrastructure. Develop quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects. Apply a strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes in all phases of design and implementation. Collaborate effectively with surveyors, engineers, and environmental scientists to deliver integrated solutions. Ensure designs meet local, state, and federal regulatory standards. Coordinate directly with clients and contractors to support successful project delivery. Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D for design and drafting tasks. Maintain project documentation and contribute to a highly organized and communicative team environment. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master’s preferred). 3+ years of experience in wastewater or municipal infrastructure design. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to commute daily to Melville, NY.
