The Plant Controller manages all financial planning, reporting, inventory management, and cost accounting for glass production. The role partners with plant leadership to provide financial insights, maintain cost controls, and drive operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Oversee plant-level accounting functions including cost accounting, inventory valuation, budgeting, and monthly financial reporting. Monitor production costs related to raw materials, energy usage, and maintenance of glass furnaces and forming equipment. Analyze production variances and provide actionable insights to improve yield, reduce scrap, and control overhead costs. Partner with plant leadership to implement process improvements and identify cost‑saving opportunities across melting, forming, and finishing lines. Develop and maintain standard costing for products and monitor actual vs. standard cost performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal control procedures. Coordinate and lead physical inventory counts, ensuring accuracy of raw materials, work‑in‑process, and finished goods. Prepare and present monthly financial performance reviews to plant and corporate leadership. Support capital investment projects by conducting financial analysis and tracking actuals vs. forecasted ROI. Lead financial audits and support internal audit requests related to plant operations. Supervise and mentor finance staff within the plant. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred). 5+ years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within glass production or a related heavy process industry. Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory control, and variance analysis. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Preferred Skills
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data to non‑finance leaders. Deep understanding of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma principles. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced production environment. Leadership capabilities and experience managing small teams. Salary Range
120,000 – 140,000 USD per annum Total Rewards Package
