We are looking for a US-based, full-time contract Director of Consumer Research and Insights who shares our values in authenticity, human-centered approaches, and making an impact.
Specifications
Full-time position beginning in September 2025, that may begin with a trial period based on candidate’s experience.
100% remote with flexibility to accommodate client and internal meetings across EST, CST, and PST timezones
Occasional travel for research (paid for by ARTYFACT)
Responsibilities Client Management (20%)
Build strong relations with clients, understanding their business problems and interface effectively with them
Manage client projects to ensure research objectives are met
Collaborate effectively with external stakeholders to deliver project deliverables
Attend project kick-off calls, weekly client meetings, debrief sessions, report share-outs, and ad hoc touchpoints as needed
Qual & Quant Research Planning & Execution (50%)
Lead and support research projects from end to end
Moderate qualitative research (focus groups, friendship triads, and 1:1s) virtually or in-person
Create robust discussion guides to enable effective consumer interviews
Create, field, and analyze quantitative research studies
Conduct landscape assessments leveraging secondary market data
Co-facilitate trainings or workshops with clients of up to 20+
Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and supporting staff to deliver project deliverables
Create highly detailed, well-designed reports to share with clients
Tell an insightful story through quantitative and qualitative consumer data
Present reports in a captivating and dynamic manner
Business Development (10%)
Participate in business development functions, including drafting proposals and joining pitch and proposal meetings
Support the leadership team in cultivating relations with new business contacts by joining new business calls

Highly detail-oriented and organized

Insightful and a great storyteller
Experienced at managing a team
Strategic and has strong business acumen
An empathetic person and has the ability to make others feel welcome
Experienced at managing or overseeing the recruitment process for interviews/focus groups
Excellent problem solver with the ability to come up with a “plan B”
Self-starter who can build a plane while it’s flying
Comfortable with tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, and Zoom
Adept with Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, Respondent, and/or User Interviews is a plus
We’ll provide the resources and training to succeed in the role; however, candidates should have access to personal technical equipment for a remote work environment and be able to hit the ground running based on prior research experience.
