Purpose Leading and mentoring a robust Annual Giving Programs team, the Senior Director of Annual Giving Programs will be responsible for strategizing, implementing, and managing multi- and omni-channel annual giving programs to increase donor acquisition, retention, engagement, participation, and revenue. This role focuses on cultivating new and retaining existing donors by identifying, qualifying, and moving them through the fundraising pipeline utilizing internal partnerships, reporting, AI and predictive analytics. The successful director will be expected to strengthen the annual giving program to increase the number of donors, their level of giving, and their continued support of the University and its philanthropic priorities, as well as leverage emerging AI and other digital technology to advance efficiency and impact at scale. Responsibilities Execute a comprehensive Annual Giving Program that includes but is not limited to: direct mail, email, texting, social media, crowdfunding, video, and any other available communication channels. Collaborate with the University Development team to support pipeline building and identify major gift prospects for referral and cultivation across campus. Manage a reporting system that provides regular analysis of annual giving effectiveness on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Ensure timely, personalized donor acknowledgment and annual giving stewardship processes. Analyze data and develop insights. Utilize data to develop and deploy fundraising strategies to optimize fundraising results. Use data to drive segmentations of fundraising campaigns and engagement from a multitude of audiences. Utilize and closely monitor a comprehensive set of metrics to achieve annual giving fundraising goals that include total giving, alumni donor participation, donor retention, and fundraising by appeal, segment, and channel. Utilize and update (as needed) dashboards to track annual giving performance and drive donor engagement and solicitation strategy. Develop strong and strategic partnerships across campus and within key constituencies to effectively identify and support annual giving opportunities. Coordinate with the Executive Director of Marketing and Communication and their team to develop a comprehensive annual giving campaign and solicitation calendar that will interface with an overall communication strategy and drive all annual giving fundraising campaigns. Advance and grow the donor pipeline. Design and execute strategies to maximize donor retention and move entry-level annual giving donors from first gift to leadership giving levels. Utilize and maintain an annual giving budget to accomplish strategic initiatives. Support ongoing and new strategies to drive growth in the President's Associates giving program. Translate fundraising goals and donor insights into creative briefs that guide design, provide clear and constructive feedback on creative concepts. Foster collaboration with teammates working on production and design by setting realistic timelines and aligning strategy with design capacity. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Deep knowledge of all direct marketing channels. Makes strategic recommendations and adjustments rooted in data analytics and results. High level of integrity and servant leadership. Driven by mission and impact. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications At least three to five years experience and successful track record leading Annual Giving teams at a major university in a complex environment. Highly strategic, analytics-minded, data-driven problem solver driving annual giving program to accomplish most important KPIs. Can provide specific evidence of being a lifetime learner, via specific industry-related marketing or fundraising certifications or other direct qualifications. This could also include an M.B.A. or Master’s-level marketing degree. Salary Range Working Conditions Works in standard office conditions, in a shared office environment, with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Some evening and weekend hours may be required during peak periods and special events. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States. This position is not eligible for sponsorship of work visas. This is an Austin, TX-based position.
