Typical Day The Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting qualified assumptions on agency, jumbo, and FHA loans to established company and investor guidelines. You will review to ensure all HUD requirements met on FHA loans, loan is insurable and Pennymac overlays applied.
Responsibilities
Underwrite qualified assumptions of mortgage loans including agency, jumbo, and FHA loans.
Review all mortgage applications and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Perform a risk based review on all loans based on expected performance and ability to repay, aside from GSE or HUD specific requirements.
Input all required information into Lending Space underwriting module accurately and within established time frames.
Support Operations, Sales and Clients in conveying Pennymac underwriting philosophy and education.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values.
Qualifications
5+ years of relevant work experience.
Must currently be an FHA Designated Underwriter.
Ability and willingness to train and mentor less experienced or new underwriters.
Experience working with automated loan origination systems.
Proficiency with automated underwriting systems such as Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector.
Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word.

Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role.
Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role.
Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role.
Salary $50,000 - $75,000
