Position Summary The Senior Manager, Custom Formulary Consultants (CFC) role on the CFC team is a highly visible role responsible for driving strategies to minimize client drug spend. You will be expected to analyze, research, write and edit custom presentations that provide clients with strategic insights around their drug trend. You will work with multiple customer market segments (i.e., Commercial, Managed Medicaid, Med D, Exchange formularies). This role is not solely client facing. There will be heavy emphasis on analytics and other business functions related to overall client financial performance. The CFC team, which is a key market differentiator that enables us to win business while ensuring we meet our client rebate contract guarantees, serves our custom formulary clients. CFC consultants leverage financial and clinical acumen to assist clients with custom formulary decisions. The individuals on this team thoroughly understand rebate guarantees, pharmaceutical manufacturer rebate agreements, rebate invoicing, rebate reporting, analyze rebate and drug utilization reports to understand trends, and provide clients with recommendations on formulary and utilization management strategies.
Responsibilities
Assisting with strategic initiatives, including working in a cross‑functional team environment on multiple projects at a time and handling needs from the trade relations organization.
Understanding trade rebate contracts and the opportunities created for clients based on their own unique characteristics.
Modeling and scenario analysis for all Trade Relations therapeutic areas; understanding and anticipating benefit design evolution and potential impact on financials.
Working within the Trade Relations department to educate external clients persuasively and effectively about potential issues and opportunities.
Directing the creation and execution of optimal client presentation strategies and processes for target markets (i.e., Commercial, Medicare, etc.).
Executing quantitative and qualitative research to develop and test value proposition scenarios and messages.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of professional work experience within the PBM, Managed Care, Pharmaceutical or Insurance arenas.
Experience establishing relationships with key internal stakeholders to navigate and help execute strategies.
Experience working with cross‑functional teams and/or projects.
Experience in managing multiple competing priorities.
Able to travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
5-8 years of experience with pharmacy benefit management, health plans, rebates, drug spend and/or formulary strategies.
2-3 years of trade experience.
Reporting and analytics experience.
Experience with analytics tools such as Excel and SQL.
Financial acumen.
Consultant experience.
Education
Bachelor's Degree required.
MBA preferred.
Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is $82,940.00 – $182,549.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
