General Liability Associate Attorney
to join its litigation team in
Lexington, Kentucky . This role focuses on handling a variety of complex general liability cases, providing strategic counsel to clients, and actively representing clients in court proceedings. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced attorneys and participate in all phases of litigation, from discovery through trial. Duties
Analyze and review
medical records
and other evidence to craft case strategies tailored to client goals. Prepare detailed case reports at various stages of litigation, including initial evaluations, pre‑trial assessments, and appellate recommendations. Draft legal motions, pleadings, and discovery documents to advance client interests in court. Conduct and defend
depositions
of parties, witnesses, and experts. Regularly appear at
court hearings , conferences, and trials to advocate on behalf of clients. Guide clients through deposition preparation, ensuring they are confident and well‑informed. Respond to
discovery requests
and draft related motions to enforce or challenge discovery obligations. Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal staff to ensure thorough case preparation and cohesive strategy development. Requirements
Licensed and in
good standing
to practice law in
Kentucky . Proven ability to conduct
legal research , interpret complex laws and regulations, and apply them to case strategy. Strong
verbal and written communication
abilities, with an emphasis on clear, persuasive legal writing. Analytical and
problem‑solving mindset , capable of identifying case strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. Confidence managing multiple cases simultaneously and adapting to shifting priorities. Previous
general liability litigation
experience is strongly preferred. Demonstrated courtroom experience, including arguing motions and handling hearings. Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.)
degree from an
accredited law school . Certifications
Active
Kentucky State Bar
membership required. Skills
Excellent analytical thinking and legal reasoning skills. Strong written and oral
advocacy
skills, with attention to detail in all written materials. Ability to build strong relationships with clients and provide clear, practical legal advice.
