Location
This position will be on-site full-time in Newburyport, MA. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).
Shift
Opening is on 3rd Shift: 12am – 7:30am (paid for 8 hours).
Team Lead Summary
The Team Lead I oversees the daily operations and safety protocols of assigned production lines, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely product completion.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all essential duties and responsibilities of Operator III.
Oversees safety protocols in assigned area, proactively asking operators for safety suggestions.
Oversees daily operations of production line(s) to ensure timely completion of product schedules while maintaining quality standards.
Monitors and coaches operator’s behaviors related to all company policies and procedures.
Assigns operators to jobs and equipment based on schedule and experience of operators.
Performs set-up and operation of all UFP machinery he / she has been trained to operate.
Troubleshoots and corrects operational problems as they occur, submitting help desk tickets in a timely manner.
Demonstrates competence using Epicor, including creating travelers and identifying and correcting labor transactions.
Works under general supervision from the Production Supervisor / Manager, supervises the training and work of Machine Operators.
Refers any decision on schedule changes to the Production Supervisor / Manager.
Assists in production / replaces absent workers when production needs dictate.
Ensures production data accuracy.
Seeks support when Supervisor is not available.
Maintains clean and organized work area, following 5S guidelines.
Supports and encourages continuous improvement efforts.
Assists with maintaining area production board.
Monitors inventory controls.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualification Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or successful completion of a company-administered equivalency exam.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience.
Ability to use quality measurement devices accurately.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes.
Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Must work well in a team environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and supervisors.
Ability to effectively train less experienced operators.
Bilingual in Spanish required.
