Position Summary The Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing USCIB work related to digital policy in key multilateral institutions. Primary responsibilities will include issues management, assisting with consensus policy development and articulation, secretariat support to the USCIB digital policy committee and its subcommittees, helping to liaise with key international organizations, and representing USCIB member interests across a host of international fora. Some international travel is probable.
Primary Responsibilities
Identify and track relevant legal and regulatory developments across global and regional IGOs for U.S. business through media and other information sources and bring these to the attention of USCIB management and membership.
Produce, in consultation with VP for Digital Policy and Digital Policy Committee members, USCIB policy positions, submissions to U.S. Government agencies and international bodies, and public statements.
Develop and assist in implementing conferences, seminars and other events to promote policy positions.
Participate in meetings relevant to committee work with U.S. government; multilateral, international, and affiliate organizations; issues experts; etc., to advance USCIB member views and achieve strategic goals.
Assist in the preparation of committee action plans for annual policy priorities and provide periodic progress reports to members and USCIB staff on committee accomplishments.
Assist the Vice President in promoting strong U.S. representation, direction, and leadership within the policy work of USCIB’s affiliates.
Help to foster and maintain effective relationships and communication channels with affiliates and relevant international, intergovernmental, and multilateral organizations’ secretariats and staffs under the guidance of the Vice President.
Support the Vice President and USCIB member delegates attending the IGF, ICANN, BIAC, and other relevant meetings, including preparation of materials and coordination as needed.
Work with USCIB committee officers to schedule and plan committee meetings, including development of agendas and securing timely, relevant outside speakers.
Procure and distribute informational materials to members as appropriate; disseminate meeting materials, including meeting minutes, in a timely fashion.
Support Vice President in working with USCIB membership team to actively engage USCIB members in relevant policy advocacy and related activities, demonstrating the value of USCIB to member companies; and identify prospective members and generate interest in USCIB.
Help prepare marketing/communications materials, including e-news articles, press releases, as appropriate.
Qualifications / Experience
3-5 years of experience working on issues related to international policy matters impacting the technology sector.
Experience working with relevant international organizations (such as the United Nations [UN], the ITU, the Internet Governance Forum [IGF], The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers [ICANN], OECD, International Chamber of Commerce, and APEC).
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects against tight deadlines, and work collaboratively in team settings.
Strong written communication and advocacy skills.
Candidates should be permanent residents or U.S. citizens.
Salary and Benefits Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
