Database Engineer

to join us on this mission. What’s the Role? As a Database Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining high‑performance database systems that support our partner’s rapidly growing operations. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, and enabling scalable solutions that power transformative energy initiatives. Why Join Us? Hybrid work model (up to 2 remote days per week) Technology stipend to support your remote setup Generous PTO & parental leave 401(k) with employer match Work with cutting‑edge technologies in a mission‑driven environment Your Impact Design, implement, and maintain robust database systems Monitor performance, manage disk usage, and optimize queries Provide expert consultation on data modelling, access methods, and issue resolution Develop and document backup, recovery, and maintenance procedures Participate in disaster recovery drills and serve as primary on‑call support Evaluate new software and upgrades for continuous improvement Support feasibility studies and business analysis Maintain system documentation and metadata repositories What You Bring 8+ years in database development or as an associate DBA 6+ years of PostgreSQL experience (EnterpriseDB preferred) 4+ years with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines Knowledge of DB2 LUW on Red Hat Linux Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset Proficiency in multiple programming/scripting languages Expertise in DML, DDL, and at least two DBMS technologies Deep understanding of DBMS access methods and OS interactions Bonus Points For Experience with CTE (CipherTrust Transparent Encryption), Barman, AWS Exposure to SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB, and DB2 on z/OS If interested, apply for the role today.
