Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a part‑time Network/Systems Administrator (Senior Associate) to support a Federal Government client in Patuxent River, MD. The administrator will provide support to the government client and interface with RDT&E and other support organizations. The administrator will apply system engineering and computer networking principles to the development, design and integration of hardware and software systems associated with local, regional and wide area networks and systems that process and route voice, video, data, and imagery information. This position is part time (30 hours per week or less) and currently requires an on‑site schedule, with 3 days’ on‑site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements. Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain an organization’s local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses May assist in network emulation/virtualization, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software Travel

Approximately 5% to other sites, as needed Required Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years’ experience working independently and/or as part of a team to configure, install, support and maintain network or system hardware and software infrastructure Knowledge of basic concepts, terminology, and operations of a wide range of communications media (computer and telephone networks, satellite, fiber, wireless) Ability to develop and write Standard Operating Procedures for technical and non‑technical consumers as well as diagrams Effective verbal and written communication skills Must be able to move/lift up to 50 lbs Must be flexible with work schedule to include occasional weekends Desired Qualifications

Familiarity DoD DISN network infrastructure Cisco CCNP Certification or higher Proficiency with Microsoft Visio Extensive experience with IPSEC, VPN, QoS, Multicast, OCSP, BGP, and L2TP Familiarity with Linux – RHEL Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university OR approved CSWF training OR certification Clearance

The MIL Corporation offers a comprehensive benefits package to support overall well‑being. For this position, the projected compensation range is $140,000 – $180,000 per year. Final salary will be determined based on individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations. Why MIL?
