Join our team as a Perinatal Mental Health Support Specialist and make a meaningful difference across Northern New Jersey. In this vital role, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking emotional support during the perinatal period. Through compassionate and culturally sensitive phone-based interactions, you’ll provide guidance, reassurance, and referrals to appropriate services tailored to each caller’s needs. Beyond direct support, you’ll play a key role in expanding awareness and access to perinatal mental health resources by: Leading community education initiatives and outreach efforts Coordinating trainings on perinatal mental health and our Emotional Phone Support program Maintaining and updating a comprehensive resource directory Supporting professional programs across Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union, and Warren Counties Responsibilities

Provide direct phone-based support to individuals experiencing perinatal mental health challenges across multiple counties in the Partnership’s catchment area. Receive referrals from birthing hospitals, clinics, OB/Peds offices, community organizations, and directly from families and birthing individuals. Maintain confidentiality of all client information, track referrals, phone calls, and follow-ups, and ensure accurate documentation. Collaborate with ConnectingNJ, Community Health Workers, Community-Based Doulas, support group facilitators, and perinatal mental health providers to ensure seamless referral pathways and coordinated care. Establish and facilitate support groups for individuals experiencing perinatal mental health challenges, ensuring accessibility and inclusion across diverse communities. Assist in maintaining and updating the provider and resource directory at least annually, ensuring it reflects current perinatal mental health and support services. Participate in relevant committees and task forces, including the Perinatal Mental Health Taskforce, as needed. Participate in regular team meetings with NJ PRSN team and the Senior Manager, contributing updates on referrals, outreach, and program activities. Support planning and execution of community outreach events, including health fairs, workshops, hospital-based events, including tabling at community events. Assist in coordinating and conducting professional training sessions and conferences for hospital staff and community-based providers. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including public, private, and nonprofit organizations, county departments, and health insurance advocacy organizations, to increase awareness and support for perinatal mental health. Contribute to monthly and quarterly program reporting and documentation of activities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, or related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide empathetic support over the phone. Experience working with culturally diverse communities/families. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends. Knowledge of support and community resources within Northern New Jersey. Experience facilitating support groups a plus. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in MS Office and ability to manage data and documentation efficiently.
