Drywall/Taper Technician Responsibilities

Measure, cut, and hang drywall sheets on walls and ceilings for new construction, remodels, or restoration projects.

Apply joint tape, drywall compound, and finishing materials to seams, corners, and fasteners to create a smooth surface ready for painting or texture.

Sand and smooth all surfaces to match surrounding areas, ensuring seamless transitions between new and existing drywall.

Repair and blend damaged drywall to match existing textures, including knockdown, orange peel, and smooth finishes.

Project Documentation: Track daily progress, note any issues, and communicate updates to the office for project management.

Minor Carpentry Support: Perform basic finish carpentry when necessary, such as door/window trim, baseboards, or minor framing repairs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience.

Must be a hard worker, punctual, and reliable.

Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends and on-call rotations.

Valid California driver's license with clean DMV record.

Must be available for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends.

Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and procedures.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Spanish is a plus (English Required)

Work safely at heights, following all safety protocols and using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Follow all applicable EPA, OSHA, and local safety regulations for hazardous materials handling.

Must be neat and tidy in appearance for client interaction.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Provide exceptional customer service with empathy and understanding during a stressful time.

Proficiency with basic technology, including smartphones, tablets, and computers, is essential. Candidates must be comfortable using softwares for timekeeping (including clocking in/out from various locations and adding job-specific notes), job management (updating progress, reviewing scopes, and uploading photos), and email communication
