About the role
This is an exciting career move that will allow you to take ownership of components of high‑end residential projects in the UK and abroad, and support the design direction of the Project Leads.
You will have a positive and professional attitude at all times towards clients, suppliers and the wider design team. You will have a meticulous eye for design and detail, evident in your well put together portfolio, and the ability to document independently across all project stages.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare concept designs with Senior Interior Designers, Associates and/or Directors
Learn to contribute and present to both internal and external stakeholders
Prepare spatial planning and schematic design schemes
Assist in preparing design presentations and documentation through RIBA stages
Assist in preparing tender documentation packages including drawings, details, schedules and specifications
Assist in liaising with the wider design team including engineering services, specialist sub consultants and suppliers as required
Assist in liaising with clients, taking meeting minutes and any project related filing (i.e. project correspondence and drawing files)
Assist in on‑site construction stage, demonstrating the ability to problem‑solve.
About you You will have previous experience of working within a collaborative, creative and resourceful team. You will have specialised experience in the design and construction of interior architecture / interior design and FF&E for high‑end private residential, development and/or hospitality projects.
You will be able to demonstrate
3+ years’ experience working in the Interior Design and/or Architecture industry
Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
AutoCAD skills essential. You must be capable of producing work packages independently to RIBA Stage 3
High end residential, development or hospitality experience highly regarded
Ability to ideate, create and push design boundaries to contribute to Banda’s design excellence and innovation.
Good technical knowledge and ability to develop architectural and joinery detailing, taking the design through to documentation with the assistance of a Senior Interior Designer, Associate and/or Director
Ability and confidence in dealing with suppliers, consultants and the wider design team
Familiarity with UK building regulations and standards relevant to the project/role
Excellent understanding of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
SketchUp, Rhino, Revit and 3D Studio Max or other 3D modelling skills an advantage
Good understanding of suppliers, materials, fabrics, sanitaryware, lighting and hardware specifications
Ability to work to deadlines, often on simultaneous projects.
Understanding of cost and assisting project teams to help deliver exceptional results within the architectural, ID and FF&E budgetary framework set out by the client or stakeholder(s).
