Position Summary Under general direction, demonstrates complete understanding & wide application of engineering technical principles, theories, and concepts. Independently determines & develops approaches to solutions. May lead small‑medium non‑critical projects or critical projects under direction of a higher‑level engineer or supervisor.
Essential Responsibilities
Uses & applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, & techniques to perform activities with complex features such as conflicting design requirements and difficult coordination.
Supports the development of technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, reports, and standards.
Works under general direction of a higher‑level engineer or supervisor for routine engineering projects and provides technical support in Operations, Maintenance, testing/diagnostics, and Regulatory areas.
May lead small‑medium non‑critical projects and coordinate critical projects under direction of a higher‑level engineer or supervisor.
Supports bid/evaluation processes, prepares bid documents, and completes technical evaluations for proposals.
Frequently exchanges information on inter‑organizational matters and with outside customers.
May assign tasks and coordinate work of interns, drafters, technicians, craft personnel, and others; provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
Performs budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management in support of engineering projects.
Staff Engineer Level (Salary Range: $79,800–$103,666) Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program (electrical engineering preferred).
2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Demonstrated broad knowledge in the specialty area and general knowledge of related disciplines.
Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level established and documented by the organization.
EIT/FE strongly preferred.
Senior Engineer Level (Salary Range: $94,600–$126,134) Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited curriculum (electrical engineering preferred).
5+ years of relevant engineering experience with EIT/FE required; 7+ years without EIT/FE.
Demonstrated broad knowledge in the specialty area and general knowledge of related disciplines.
Preferred PE registration may be required depending on business need.
Preferred Experience
Experience in combustion turbine or reciprocating engines, particularly Siemens simple‑cycle combustion turbine facilities.
Design experience in these areas is particularly valuable for reviewing design work.
Experience in utility‑scale wind, solar, or battery storage projects is an acceptable alternative to combustion turbine facilities.
Experience designing utility‑scale energy facilities, such as sizing equipment and cabling, will be preferred.
Experience overseeing construction and commissioning of combustion turbines.
