Job Summary As a Marketing Settlement Analyst for Coterra, you will support month‑end closing activities, ensure accuracy of financial reporting through detailed reconciliations and data validation, serve as liaison between Product Scheduling, Contract Administration and Accounting, support invoicing accuracy, compliance and continuous process improvements. This position is located onsite at our Houston, Texas headquarters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supports month‑end closing processes and provides data for financial reporting
Reconciles third‑party statements and charges for accuracy (pipeline, processing, storage facilities, transport)
Confirms accuracy of various contract fee escalations
Validates buy/sell transactions and other related transactions, ensuring proper accounting treatment
Identifies and resolves invoicing discrepancies and disputes
Reconciles deliveries/receipts against contractual commitments and invoices (pipeline statements, invoices, internal databases, gathering systems)
Participates in system integration and enhancement opportunities and reporting
Develops and distributes monthly reports (fuel, transport, imbalance)
Reconciles imbalance calculations and assists Accounting with cash‑out procedures
Acts as backup for wellhead Gas Balancing Coordinator
Prepares and tracks changes to working interest owner Marketing Letter Agreements
Maintains detailed records for audit and regulatory compliance and assists in any necessary revisions
Skills and Experience
Strong detail orientation
Demonstrated experience managing month‑end close processes and working with large data sets
Familiarity with ETRM platforms such as Endur/OpenLink, Allegro, or others is strongly preferred
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Ability to perform and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent experience
Years of Experience
Minimum: Three (3) years of Oil and Gas Marketing experience
Preferred: Five (5) years of Oil and Gas Marketing experience
Working Conditions and Physical Demands Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting, and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame‑resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
Travel Requirements Percent of travel required: Less than 5%; travel may be required for mandatory meetings or training.
