CDL-A Truck Driver
Shift : 6am to 4pm, M-F (50 hour weeks)
Pay : $24/hr or more based on experience level
Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CDL truck driver. Excellent vehicle operation skills for heavy commercial vehicles. Knowledge of and adherence to all federal and state transportation regulations. Must possess a valid CDL license, clean MVR and pass a DOT physical The ability to perform basic maintenance and identify mechanical issues. Proficiency in using GPS and reading maps to plan efficient routes. A thorough understanding of safety protocols and regulations. The ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing paperwork and logs. Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules as business conditions require. Commitment to safety, both for oneself and others on the road. Responsibilities:
Driving - Safely operates commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, box trucks, or other specified vehicles, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Ability to safely drive in all types of weather conditions Vehicle Inspection - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck and its equipment is safe, working order, checking tires, fluids, and other components. Cargo Management - Supervise or assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring cargo is accurately verified and properly secured to prevent damage or shifting during transport. Route Planning - Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel efficiency and minimizing downtime. Safety & Regulations - Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations, including those for transporting hazardous materials if applicable. Log keeping & Paperwork - Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, fuel expenses, and cargo details, as well as complete all necessary delivery documentation as well as Vehicle inspections reports Communication - Effectively communicate with customers to report delivery status, delays, or any road incidents. Travel - Available to work out of town requiring overnight stay as business conditions require. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of trips, including driver logs, mileage, and delivery receipts. When not driving or back from a run, assist the TEAM as needed in the shop.
