Technical Recruiter

Tagup, Inc., New York, New York, us, 10261

Save Job

Tagup is a defense technology company founded at MIT that is redefining logistics superiority with next-generation AI. We’re growing rapidly and are looking for change-makers passionate about delivering innovative technologies to solve the most challenging problems in the world’s highest stakes environments. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in meaningful work that strengthens national security and contributes to the success of U.S. and allied forces. Join us in shaping the future of defense logistics for a safer tomorrow.

We’re seeking a Technical Recruiter (Mid-Level) who can run full-cycle searches across software, data/AI, security, and forward-deployed engineering roles—especially hard-to-find talent with defense or cleared backgrounds. You know where “technical unicorns” live, how to earn their attention, and how to guide them through a crisp, candidate-first process.

In this role, you’ll own reqs end-to-end, build proactive pipelines, partner tightly with executives and hiring managers, and keep the bar high while moving fast.

Responsibilities

Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (sourcing → screen → onsite loop → offer → close) with excellent candidate experience

Build and nurture pipelines for AI/ML, platform/backend, security/SRE, and forward-deployed engineers (including cleared talent pools)

Drive advanced sourcing: market mapping, structured Boolean projects, GitHub/Stack outreach, ClearanceJobs/veteran networks, conferences (AUSA, SOFIC), and referrals

Run structured intakes, define scorecards, and calibrate interviews; keep processes lean and high‑signal

Maintain rigorous ATS hygiene in Lever: dashboards, stages, SLAs, compliance, and reporting

Instrument funnel metrics (time-to-fill, pass‑through, source effectiveness, quality‑of‑hire) and run weekly reviews

Draft compelling JDs and outreach; steward Tagup’s employer brand across defense‑tech communities

Desired Skills

3–6 years of technical recruiting experience with a track record filling mid‑to‑senior engineering roles in product‑focused companies

Hands‑on Lever expertise (pipelines, automation, reporting, scheduling integrations, and compliance)

Fluency across software engineering, data/AI/ML, and cloud/security domains; able to assess technical depth and trajectory

Experience recruiting in defense/GovTech; familiarity with security clearances and working with candidates who hold or can obtain them

Expert sourcer with creative, candidate‑first outreach and strong closing skills

Operator mindset: organized, metrics‑driven, and action‑oriented in an ambiguous, high‑velocity environment

Salary The estimated salary range for this position is between $115,000 and $150,000 annually. We strive to provide a competitive salary and benefits package that aligns with our employees’ experience and qualifications. Our primary objective is to attract and retain top talent, and we firmly believe in compensating our employees fairly for their invaluable contributions. As a rapidly expanding technology company, we extend part‑ownership to all team members through an Employee Stock Option Plan. Additionally, we offer comprehensive health insurance benefits, access to the company’s 401K plan, and foster a team‑oriented work environment with regular company outings!

Why Join Us Be the force‑multiplier for delivery by hiring the hardest‑to‑find AI/ML, platform, security, and forward‑deployed engineers. You’ll run high‑signal, candidate‑first processes, build proactive pipelines across cleared and niche communities, and institutionalize speed and quality in Lever. Work directly with founders on role design and compensation strategy, translating your sourcing into accepted offers and deployed teams.
