The Accounting Manager will oversee comprehensive accounting functions and financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of multi-tiered Joint Ventures. These ventures include investments in commercial real estate, development projects, and related investment vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review property-level financial reports prepared by Property Accounting for accuracy and completeness. Prepare and communicate adjusting journal entries as needed for consolidation and JV reporting.
  • Post journal entries, perform reconciliations, and maintain supporting schedules for assigned general ledgers. Manage cash postings and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with Property Accounting and Asset Management teams to produce accurate monthly financial statements and quarterly investor reports, ensuring proper accounting treatment and timely delivery.
  • Assist Asset Management with quarterly distributions, capital calls, and waterfall calculations and analysis.
  • Prepare and submit reports required for debt covenant compliance, including monitoring guarantor obligations.
  • Support annual tax and audit processes, including the preparation of workpaper packages.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle commercial real estate accounting.
  • Familiarity with investor portals.
  • Proficiency in MRI software is preferred; experience with investment accounting and system implementations is a plus.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to support ad-hoc assignments and apply critical thinking to resolve issues.
