Job Description

Manage all testing and certification requirements such as TDI, Florida Product Approvals, Miami Dade NOA’s, and FM approvals.

Manage all aspects of testing new products or product changes, including concept, hypothesis, budget, material procurement, test build, manage contract testing, and meeting ASTM standards.

With input from Management, prioritize potential R&D projects based on ROI.

Provide testing and certification support to inside sales, architects, and third‑party engineers.

Coordinate with Marketing when testing and product approvals are updated so all Cornerstone Building Brand websites are updated.

Communicate needs and difficulties to all members of the team to assure quick disposition of problems.

Understand the role in the overall system and be willing to step outside that role when required.

Coordinate work with other departments as required (Technical Services/IT, Design, Drafting, Manufacturing, etc.)

Coordinate and manage all test materials, tools, and company property related to the test lab and its requirements.

Qualifications Required

Previous metal testing or metal installation experience

Technical expertise to be conversant on all applicable building codes, material design standards, company procedures, computer software programs, and industry‑sponsored research.

Preferred

Previous R&D testing experience

Associate’s degree

10‑years metal building component design experience, R&D experience, or related field, preferred

B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering
