Mechanical Designer
Pay range: $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
Responsibilities
Lead and assist engineering in new product development design solutions as part of the phase-gate process
Develop and design mechanical components and assemblies using Creo
Create and manage PLM Process via Bill of Material (BOM) creation and maintenance in PTC-Windchill
Work from oral or written engineering instructions, procedures, schematics, drawings, and sketches
Develop and design mechanical parts and assemblies, as well as 3D harness routing using Creo Schematic and Pro/CABLE
Create 2D harness drawings
Creo modeling, manage assemblies, BOM Windchill, drawing changes, simple to clean sheet designs
Design brackets, harness/cable design/routing, copper tubing/routing, drawing packages
Develop, communicate, and present design concepts
Understand design failure mode and effects analysis and tolerance analysis
Prepare engineering documentation, bills of material and change notices
Provide design support for current production products
Interact with vendors, service personnel, and outside engineering resources
Qualifications
Technical Engineering Associate preferred
5+ years of relevant work experience required
Proficient in Creo
Knowledge of mechanical design and assembly management, material selection, and BOM creation/maintenance
Strong written and verbal skills with ability to follow written instructions
Advanced utilization of PTC PLM system (Windchill)
Knowledge of wire harness design & routing
Customer driven and quality minded in performing all assigned duties
Able to function in a technical engineering team environment
Able to handle multiple, varied tasks simultaneously
Adapt to changing demands, priorities and objectives
