IMEG Corp. is growing, and we’d love you to join our team! We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer 1 in our Reno, NV office. The Senior Electrical Engineer 1 will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects, and support larger, high-complexity projects with limited oversight. They will collaborate with engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and client advice to ensure successful outcomes. Responsibilities include project management, engineering analysis, design, and oversight of electrical systems in buildings. Additional duties involve managing project budgets, mentoring staff, and working with cross-functional teams to meet project and client goals. Principal Responsibilities Lead design efforts for electrical systems, utilizing engineering software to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code and IMEG standards. Perform site assessments and generate technical reports. Engage with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Maintain professional client relationships. Conduct design reviews and ensure quality control processes meet standards and client expectations. Train, mentor, and motivate staff. Provide technical assistance with limited senior support. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Prioritize safety in all engineering activities and identify potential risks. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions. Participate in project interviews and presentations. Required Skills / Abilities Proficiency in electrical engineering principles, including circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics. Knowledge of IES Standards and resources like NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and FGI. Experience with Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; proficiency in Adobe or Bluebeam Revu. Ability to mentor, lead, and develop client relationships. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with MS Office Suite. Willingness to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum 7 years of experience, with 8 preferred, in building design consulting. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds regularly. Occasional driving, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching, and pulling. Limited exposure to outside weather and loud noises. Salary range: $112,000 - $170,000. Compensation depends on experience, skills, and location.
