Job Details Full Time Position – 40 hours weekly.
Essential Functions
Interacts with co‑workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
Operates mammography equipment and performs mammography examinations to produce radiograph images for clinical screening and diagnostic purposes.
Ensures successful procedure by positioning patient and breast, instructing patient throughout the procedure, and adjusting compression mechanisms and equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Provides staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards.
Documents patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting.
Obtains complete and accurate medical history and delivers care and support services to clients before, during, and after mammogram procedures (e.g., explaining procedures and answering inquiries).
Ensures operation of mammography equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, and maintaining equipment inventories.
Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor, or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control.
Maintains continuing education required for licenses and job position.
Other duties as assigned.
Competencies Knowledge of mammographic imaging techniques and procedures; ability to produce diagnostic images of breast tissue; preparation of patients for imaging; monitoring patient reactions; responding to emergent situations with appropriate measures.
Education & Experience Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduate of a recognized School of Radiologic Sciences; mammography technologists must have at least 40 hours of documented mammography training and 40 hours of digital mammography training or equivalent on‑job training. Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred.
Certifications & Licenses
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
ARRT certification in radiography and advanced certification in mammography (FDA/MQSA qualified).
Mammography (M) Registry (eligible 6 months to attain).
IV certification as necessary; administer contrast agent if required.
Other Information May require travel between Jefferson sites.
Compensation $33.52 to $47.78 per hour. Hiring rate based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Work Shift Workday Day (United States of America). Regular 40‑hour workweek.
