A Day in the Life
Responsibilities
Provide consultancy to Medtronic managers; staffing strategy, day-to-day supplier management / issue resolution Review and qualify new requisitions prior to release/posting to staffing suppliers. Provide support and training to Hiring Managers through the entire Procure to Pay process related to Contingent Workers. Facilitate assignment changes (including extensions, transfers, backfills, etc.). Laison between managers and supplier for coaching, ER issues, performance issues, furloughs. Manage On/Off Boarding process (terminations). Resolve operational issues related to worker engagement, timesheets, invoicing, and offboarding. Lead Q&A sessions between suppliers and Hiring Managers on requisitions. Manage tenure exception/negotiation process. Advise on conversion strategy Support audits, reporting, and data analysis related to contingent labor utilization, spend, and supplier diversity. Negotiate rates with Suppliers to obtain fair market price for each position via a competitively bid program model. Develop proactive Supplier and Stakeholder relationships. Deliver comprehensive reporting (Standard & Ad-Hoc) to customers as requested or work with Program Reporting Analyst to submit requests and establish prioritization. Conduct ongoing user training for Medtronic users and suppliers. Pre ID Management
Manage rate negotiations against internal job leveling guides and rates Ensure compliance to 60-day break policy for prior workers or returning employees Independent Contractor Management
Educate managers on 1099 vs W2 laws and regulations Perform initial vetting and consulting for independent contractor requests Re-negotiate 1099 rates when the individual does not qualify Complete SOW configuration, updates and manage billing approvals Present, align, and implement business strategy changes. Where possible, benchmark with other companies to determine best overall practices for assigned commodity area. Monitor Supplier performance using scorecards; conduct regular business reviews to drive continuous improvement. Partnering with TA on conversion terms, timelines. Qualifications
Must Have:
Bachelor's degree with 4+ years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 year’s prior relevant experience. Nice to Have:
Contingent staffing industry experience preferred Experience with VMS (vendor management systems) such as VNDLY, Fieldglass Proficient using Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, MS Teams) Change management experience Strong relationship building Vendor negotiation Full life cycle recruiting experience Understanding contracts/staffing agreements Benefits & Compensation
Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations: $82,400.00 – $123,600.00. This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long‑term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well‑being program).
