Job Summary Supermicro is experiencing unprecedented revenue growth in the past several years driven by explosive demand in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Big Data Management, HPC, and Data Storage. This Staff Systems Engineer position will be a team member of the Product Office, which specializes in vertically and horizontally integrated Hardware/Software solutions across Supermicro’s entire product portfolio. The position’s focus involves developing & deploying AI tools with PyTorch or Tensorflow. Alternate functions in architecting, certifying, validating, and benchmarking SW/HW solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Deploy Rack/Cluster hardware and software infrastructure and execute comprehensive system level testing on the latest generation of CPU processors, GPUs, Networking, and Storage.

Conduct proof of concept design and testing. Establish expertise in various applications and optimizing benchmarks performance results by tuning system settings, OS/network configurations, and demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and building robust processes and procedures for validating solutions.

Provide operational support for Cluster, Storage, HPC and Cloud infrastructure. Identify and document hardware and software quality issues. Collaborate with product management and other Engineering teams to integrate enhancements into future products.

Create automation tools for cluster deployment and test environment.

Write technical documents for test procedures, test reports and troubleshooting procedures related to servers/networks/clusters software and hardware to facilitate knowledge sharing.

Deliver on-site deployment services to ensure customer acceptance verification and satisfaction.

Occasionally support Sales teams with technical customer engagement.

Qualifications

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.

12+ years of work-related experience in server/network/storage hardware configuration, testing, debugging and troubleshooting.

12+ years of work-related experience in DevOps or in cloud environments, including but not limited to Docker/Containers and Kubernetes.

Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow are a priority.

Familiar with TCP/IP protocol stack, UDP, IPv4-IPv6, DNS, DHCP and other Application protocols.

Familiar with HPC, AI or Cloud benchmark testing, networking architecture.

Programming experience in Python and shell scripting.

Strong communication skills and strong sense of teamwork.

CCNA, OpenStack, OpenShift, Azure or AWS is a plus.

Salary Range $170,000 - $185,000
